Blak Fig is more than a cafe. Established by First Peoples' Health and Wellbeing in 2025, our purpose is to create culturally safe training and employment opportunities for First Nations people.

We know that meaningful employment is about more than just a job. It can have a powerful impact on wellbeing, confidence, financial independence and sense of purpose. We believe that culturally safe workplaces and supported pathways into employment are key to helping First Nations people achieve their goals and thrive.

Through hands-on hospitality training, mentoring and real-world work experience, we're supporting local mob to build skills, confidence and experience while overcoming some of the barriers they may face on the pathway to long-term employment.
